Ultrasonic Pest Control

Ultrasonic pest control, like electronic pest control is said to eliminate pests from any home, building or office by using a high-pitched sound that can only be heard by the pests, but is inaudible to house pets and humans alike, and keeps rodents and insects 1000 feet away from the unit. It is said that these sounds are annoying enough that the pests will leave or die.

Some ultrasonic pest control systems, also known as inaudible ultrasonic pest control, such as the Lentek brand are said to have helped drive away rodents. Their systems include ultrasonic-only items that use “sweep sound technology,” this technology uses noise bursts, similar to a siren that sound continuously or intermittently, and can be heard only by rodents such as mice and rats. Along the same lines, PestContro system uses electromagnetic and ultrasonic sound that follows the wiring within the walls to make an uncomfortable living environment for the pests that may be in the walls – where they most often hide.

Ultrasonic pest control effectiveness and ultrasonic pest control reliability go hand in hand when it comes researching the best system for a particular area. While many believe in these systems, scientists believe that they do not work as they have tested these and found no proof of their claims. They say that many insects and animals that people want to rid their houses of actually hear and/or feel the same range of sound that humans do. So, with this information if a sound does not bother a human, it very likely will not affect an animal or pest; with some said to actually become accustomed to the sounds and return to their hiding place. In addition, gerbils and hamster are in the same family as rats – so if a sound will bother a rat and repel, them they would also effect these small pets. Also, it is said that the sounds themselves do not carry far, and loses its intensity as it travels.

So what is the best ultrasonic pest repeller, it is hard to say. Nearly every catalog and magazine will have some type of advertisement for one. Some will say they do not work, others will swear by them; each is an individual choice and preference. If they do work they can possibly eliminate pesticides that can cause harmful side effects, that in it is a good reason to try them.
